Starting to protrude the lines into a 3d object. Using creams, greys and browns. Looking at comfort in this in-between space somewhere that combines the materiality of the kitchen and the bedroom. Giving the space comfort.

In this section view I'm looking at my gesture in the space and protruding it through the front plane

Plan view of putting my gesture into my model and giving a sense of scale with people

I interpreted my gesture in lighting up the space

I isolated the light and made the background dark which then showed up the framing and gave an interesting effect

Collaging

Collaging into my gesture images to create a space

Creating a space from the images we were given in class

Also some collaging of images I found myself

From my sketch-up model to the lazer cut model, talking with my client Amelia we chose to do the living room as it is the in-between space at home while doing her ritual as she makes the tea in the kitchen and then drinks it in her bedroom.

Aesthetic Gesture + constructing the brief

Talking with Amelia and interpretting her ritual which was making tea I came up with my own aesthetic gesture. She had looked at the tracking of her movements when making the tea and I did a similar thing when doing my ritual so I looked into this for my aesthetic gesture. To do this I used string and created a path that marked my movements while making my own tea.

A drawing of the movement

DOCUMENTATION 4: THERMAL CAMERA TRIAL

I trialled using the thermal setting on my webcam while loading the dishwasher, it was inaccurate though because the thermal colours were just based from the lighting.

DOCUMENT 3: AUDIO OF LOADING DISHWASHER

DOCUMENT 2: TRACKING MOVEMENT

For my second document I tracked my movements of loading up the dishwasher,  I did this by taking a video of myself loading the dishwasher and then when re-watching the video I traced my movements.

DOCUMENT 1: LAYOUT MAP

In this document I was looking at how I stack the dishwasher with preconceived placements in my head like a map where the different dishes go. Something you do automatically with out thinking.
