Feedback on peers presentations

Janoo Patel

I really enjoyed Janoo's presentation, I felt that her concept was well resolved and that she had responded to her clients brief successfully. Her final perspectives views and her physical model were constructed to a high quality which showed her design effectively and clearly.

Natalie Harris

I  was really interested in the outcome of Natalie's design, I thought that her physical model was well constructed, and her perspectives were evocative and gave a good sense of what it would be like to inhabit the space.

Rachel Baker

I thought that Rachels final outcome was very clever with the way she had extended beyond the confines of the room for her design. Her physical model was expertly constructed which gave a very good representation of the space. I really liked the way Rachel used materials in the space to give it feel,   for example with the black wall in the prayer space.

Xavier Ellah

Xaviers project was well resolved and presented beautifully. I especially liked the video walkthrough from cry engine, it explained the design well and gave a good representation of the space. I liked how Xavier used collage throughout his project through to his final drawings, it gave a consistent style to his work and looked really effective on the page. His final design really related back to the ritual which was good and overall a nice flowing presentation.

Feedback from class and design changes

From the presentation the feedback I got was to include underfloor heating and the flooring is a polished concrete and to add some kind of seating maybe close to the floor to give more comfort to the space.

Final Perspectives

Final perspectives showing scale of space and materiality of semi transparent plastic in the shelving, concrete floor and polished concrete bench. And also showing lighting conditions.

Physical Model

My physical model with my final form of the shelving and bar and the floor lighting and light coming through the transparent material in the shelving.

Artist models

Tadao Ando's Church of the Light was a source of inspiration for the way I could use lighting in my design. I liked the way he used this slits in the wall to let the light in and the aesthetic this gave to his design.

I am really interested in the works of Steven Holl and also Le Cobusier with how they use lighting through different shapes and slits

I started developing this idea of pulling up objects from the lines on the floor and then incorporating this with the way I was experimenting with lighting. I then created shelving with one of the objects I extruded from my gesture design and started to play around with having the lighting on the flooring and objects rather than just lighting up the space in the specific directions of my gesture lines.

Artist Model

I researched into how I could make the objects I was extruding from the lines of my gesture into furniture etc and came across this interesting design. Its a Tea Shop/bar in Sydney called T2B designed by Landini Associates. The design of the space really caught my eye and gave me a lot of inspiration for where to go with my project.

This large central concrete bench is very bold and interesting, it fits in the space elegantly

I like the way they have used this shelving to display there products
